How religious are you?

ascentiondanny.jpgA Survey in Britain in 2005 found that 36% of people in the 18-30 age group  described themselves as atheists. 35% never prayed or went to church. 73% do not pray regularly.
28% do not believe in life after death and 29% don’t know. 21% consider Christmas mainly as a religious festival, while 38% consider it mainly as a holiday and 28% as an opportunity to meet friends and family.

In 1954 90% owned a Bible; in 2004 65% did.

How religious are you. Do you think that you are less religious than your parents or grandparents? Does your family have a bible? Do you think the churches will soon have no visitors on Sunday?

I am religious. But my grandmother is much more religious than me. She goes to church every day. She prays every day. My brother is as religious as me. But my parents are much less religious than me. They go to church only at Christmas and Easter. My father works on Sunday so he can’t go to church. My mother cooks dinner at Holy Mass time, so she can’t go to church, too. Anyway, I don’t like going to church every Sunday. I have a lot of plans for a Sunday morning, but I have to. Life is brutal…

Actually people are less religious than their ancestors . In spite of it I think the churches will soon have no visitors on Sundays.
In my close family there is no atheist. We have own Bible and go to church once a week (and as often as may be necessary for example whilst religious holidays). We try to keep the Commandments. Unfortunately I don’t pray regularly, but all my class have a religious education in school twice a week so I take part in these lessons. It’s obvious I consider Christmas as a holiday and an opportunity to meet friends and family ,too but mainly as a time to pray.
